Individual counseling sessions entail a one-on-one meeting between you and Amanda. During individual sessions, Amanda creates a holding space that is safe, confidential, and supportive. Each session is tailored to you and you control the pace. You and Amanda will work to establish a solid therapeutic relationship, which is a critical and necessary step in the healing and growth process. Together, you and Amanda develop goals for therapy and a plan for how to achieve those goals.
Couples and Marriage Counseling
Couples and marriage counseling focuses specifically on the relationship between partners. In this type of counseling, the client is the relationship, unlike individual counseling. After establishing your history as a couple and your goals for your relationship, Amanda assists in resolving conflict, identifying and resolving communication issues, and improving overall relationship satisfaction.
Similar to couples and marriage counseling, family counseling focuses specifically on the relationship among members of the family system. Amanda works with each family to establish goals and identify problematic system dynamics. The process of family therapy can help to strengthen relationships, establish deeper connections, and break unhealthy or negative cycles of behavior and/or communication.
Group therapy is an opportunity for individuals to be a part of the therapeutic process with other individuals that have similar circumstances. This type of therapy offers an added layer of support through the group process. Amanda leads several groups at various times during the year, including Mindful Mothers and RESTORE.
