Succulents

More than its beauty

As with most plants and flowers, succulents have a very specific meaning. Due to their ability to thrive in extreme environments, succulents represent unending love.  They are tenacious plants with hardy leaves that exude beauty and steadfastness in the most difficult of circumstances.  These plants, particularly the cacti flower, represent maternal, unconditional love.

Welcome

Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Amanda Hill and I am a perinatal mental health and relationship therapist.  There are many options for care in our great city so I am truly grateful for your interest in my services.  Finding a therapist can be overwhelming and fit is important for any relationship.  Therefore, here are some reasons why I may be a good fit for you.

First, not all therapists are trained equally.  We each  put a great amount of time and effort into training for the populations we serve.  I have years of experience assisting moms, couples, and families.  I am also specifically trained in these areas of care for your benefit.  That means that our plans for treatment are individual to your needs.  Second, I offer support in between sessions because life does not just happen in one hour increments.  Lastly, I am dedicated to finding what works for you. That means I work with you to find the best solutions.  We are individuals and that means a "one size fits all" approach does not work.

It also means that I work very hard to meet you where you are, to assess

and provide practical, working solutions for your life.  Life transitions, building families, raising children, learning to be partners, thriving in our relationships look differently for everyone and requires an individual approach.

I offer a free 30 minute consultation over the phone or in person in order for us to meet and see if we are a good fit.  If you have additional questions about my services or would like to schedule a free consultation, please click the "contact me" button below.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Infertility and Family Building

Family building does not look the same for everyone.  Individuals and couples who choose to build a family may require additional support through the process of procedures such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg donation, surrogacy, and adoption.

Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health

Perinatal and maternal mental health encompass issues that arise from conception to postpartum.  They include depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychosis, and anger/rage.

Trauma and Loss

Though we do not always talk about it, trauma and loss can be a part of motherhood.  Whether it be through the process of family building, a past trauma impacting your dreams of parenthood, the loss of your pregnancy, the unexpected shift or transition in your life, or the loss of a loved one.

Paternal Mental Health

Often overlooked and rarely assessed, postnatal depression can affect men.  Paternal mental health focuses on postnatal depression in men.  Fathers can also suffer from depression and anxiety, which can lead to difficulty in bonding with their children.

Couples and Marriage Counseling

Connection is at the core of our health and wellbeing.  It is critical to our physical, mental, and emotional health.  Periods of distress, though a normal part of any relationship, can have an impact on our wellness.  Counseling provides tools to reestablish connection and trust as well as maintain or rebuild (if necessary) a strong relationship foundation.

Family Counseling

The composition of families may differ one to another; however, the needs of individuals within the family system are often complex and not readily apparent.  Family counseling provides tools to assist families in relating to one another, identifying needs, and working together to create a safe space for each member.
